Obesity is essentially a complex disorder that involves the accumulation of excess fat in the body due to several causes. It is a medical condition that is directly related to other serious health conditions and diseases, such as high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, etc.

A sudden increase in body mass index or BMI causes people to gain weight. Body mass index or BMI determines the appropriate amount of fat in the body. For reference, a BMI between 18-24.9 is considered normal, while a BMI higher than this is considered overweight.
